Mannequin

Hello this weekend I took the opportunity to craft and to sort through a chest which I use to keep some of my crafty bits and pieces. Whilst looking through the chest I found a mannequin I had bought sometime ago with the idea of having a go at Decopatch. As you can see from the picture I changed my mind!!

I decided instead to cover the mannequin in some yarns I found in my ribbon collection. I carefully wound the threads around the mannequin sticking them in place with Cosmic Shimmer Glue (which can be found here). This glue dries clear and quickly so was ideal for this project.

The mannequin is now sitting on a table in my bedroom it looks very much at home!!

Take care - back soon xx

Edwardian Door

Hello a card to share today - the story The Secret Garden inspired me to make this card, having seen a copy recently with a lovely picture on the front cover. Using the Edwardian Door die I created a "forgotten door" covered in pretty foliage. Hope it doesn't look too messy!!

Ingredients used:

Edwardian Door die, Flower from Homespun die set
Flourishes from Jewel Flowers & Flourishes die set
Distress inks, papers from stash, 3D foam pads

Yesterday I spent far too long playing with the new Woodland Deer die which you can find here will be sharing projects soon. It has overtaken the Poinsettia die in my list of favourites (I didn't think that was possible!!). All of the Woodland collection looks amazing I will have to add them to my Christmas list!

Having lunch with a friend today as it is half term a whole week off to enjoy. Back soon take care xx

Elliott's Angels Project

Hello today I am sharing another Elliott's Angels Project using the Joy Strip die. This time I have choosen to make a "shabby chic" Christmas card.

Elliott's Angels Project

Hello today I am sharing another Elliott's Angels project this time using Spellbinders Joy Strip die. I have used the die to make a very simple decorative strip for a candle (flameless!).

Have a look at http://hope-chances.blogspot.co.uk for more details.

For this project I cut and embossed some cream card and inked through the die to give it some colour. It looks very effective when the candle is flickering - you can find this die here.

Ingredients used:

Joy Strip die
Cream card, Memento Ink (Rhubarb Stalk),
Adirondack Ink (Lettuce), double-sided tape

Will be back soon with more to share xx

Candy Cane Gift Bag

Hello time to share another project for Elliott's Angels using the Candy Cane Card Front.

I have made a Christmas gift bag with matching tag by cutting out the candy canes and using them as strips (I was thinking candy cane bunting!!) . To make my Christmas house I used Labels Sixteen cut in half for the roof and a smaller die for the front door. I added a wooden heart from my stash and using the smallest Classic Circle die I cut some snowflakes from decorative paper (the very small dies do come in handy). I used a single candy cane to make a gift tag.

Ingredients used:

Candy Cane Card Front,
Labels Sixteen, Classic Squares,
Classic Circles
Kraft bag, Dovecraft North Pole papers,
foam pads

The Candy Cane Card Front die is on sale here http://hopeandchances.co.uk/shop/ at a great discount. Have a look at http://hope-chances.blogspot.co.uk to see lots of other projects.

Will be back soon with more to share xx

Christmas Puddings

Hello today I would like to share some felt Christmas puddings I have made using Spellbinders Nestibilities Circle dies.

I find cutting circles really difficult so the circle dies are a must have for me. For the tops of the puddings I cut a circle in half giving it a scalloped edge. I added some French Knots (well my version of a French Knot). The holly leaves I cut out freehand, so hopefully they look like holly!! I will be hanging these on my Christmas tree this year along with a few other felt decorations I will be sharing shortly.

Will be back soon with a card to share (not a Christmas card)!!

Hearts

Hello I cannot believe we are in October already, there is definitely a chill in the air, but the sun is still trying it's best to shine. I am looking forward to all the gorgeous colours that Autumn brings and drinking lots of hot chocolate to keep warm!!

Today I would like to share another Christmas project using two of my favourite Spellbinder dies the Classic Hearts and of course who can resist an opportunity to use the Poinsettia die. I have combined these dies to make a Christmas decoration using some wool felt.

I used the largest Heart die, three layers of the Poinsettia die and the leaves. I also added three small red beads to the centre of the Poinsettia. I do enjoy decorating my home at Christmas so will have to make a few more to dot around the house. The Poinsettia die can be found at: http://hopeandchances.co.uk/shop/  along with some lovely new Spellbinder dies that can be pre-ordered. I have treated myself to the Woodland Deer (how could I resist)!!

Will be back soon with Christmas puddings (of the felt kind)!!
